Preparing for your cycling tour in Mallorca
To enjoy the Serra de Tramuntana on your cycling route you must take into account some factors, among which the most important is to analyse the technical profile of the route. Many of these cycling routes in Mallorca can be very steep, so you may need to be technically prepared, as well as having the right sports equipment.
In our aparthotel you will find everything you need to enjoy your route without any problems.

The best routes in the Tramuntana mountain range (Mallorca)
Thanks to the location of the DUVA Aparthotel, you can enjoy the best routes through the Serra de Tramuntana without having to travel by car to other towns or through major urban centres. One of the routes that we usually do with our clients is the one that starts at the DUVA Aparthotel and ends at La Calobra, at the end of torrent de Pareïs.
From Cycling in Mallorca we recommend you to do this cycling route you need to have good previous preparation and be in very good physical condition as it has significant slopes. It is a step further than the route to the Faro de Formentor lighthouse.
The Pollença - Sa Calobra cycling route starts in our town along one of the most beautiful roads on the island, which runs through the beginning of the Tramuntana mountain range in the direction of the monastery of Lluc. It is an impressive place and well worth a visit.
After passing through Lluc, we head towards La Calobra along a winding road with inclines of up to 10º at some points. This is the reason why we recommended that you prepare well before this cycling route.
Details of the cycling route Pollensa - Sa Calobra
Although you can always count on us to give you all the details at the DUVA Aparthotel, it is worth getting to know this route a little better before tackling it. The average gradient is approximately 7%, combining ascents and descents as it is an out-and-back route that ends back at our Aparthotel in Pollensa.
The total distance to be covered is about 95 Km, so it is not the best option for beginners or cyclists who are a little untrained. This cycling route through the Sierra de Tramuntana passes through several mountain passes as the route passes very close to Puig Major, the highest mountain on the island of Mallorca.
The road is quite winding and you should always respect the traffic to do it safely. To avoid the busiest times, it is best not to do it at weekends, when there are more cars visiting the Sierra.
Another flatter route: Port de Pollença - Sineu
Among the many cycling routes that start from our Aparthotel in Puerto de Pollensa, there are also gentler options in terms of altitude and difficulty. This one leaves Puerto de Pollensa heading south to the village of Sineu.
There are variants of this cycling route designed for road cycling, but there are also alternatives that pass through mountain roads. Options suitable for mountain bikes or trekking.
The approximate distance covered by this cycling route through the north and centre of Mallorca is about 80 km, but with much gentler gradients than the previous route to La Calobra.
